Nottingham Forest loaned Tyler Bindon out to Sheffield United in the Championship this summer, but the Kiwi international had a debut to forget against Bristol City.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bindon joined Sheffield United<\/a> in what looked to be the perfect loan destination for the centre-back, providing a step up in quality while also reuniting him with Rub\u00e9n Sell\u00e9s who was his manager at Reading.<\/p>\n

Indeed, Bindon was excited about joining Sheffield United<\/a> with the Sell\u00e9s factor a major selling point, as well as the chance to be competing at the top of the Championship table.<\/p>\n

However, the opening day couldn\u2019t have gone much worse for Bindon<\/a> and his teammates as they lost 4-1 at home to Bristol City, with the Forest loanee garnering criticism online.<\/p>\n

Bindon won Reading\u2019s Player of the Season<\/a> before departing the club so there was an expectation that he would make the step up to Championship level without an issue.<\/p>\n

On Saturday\u2019s showing, though, the transition may not be so simple as Sheffield United fans took to social media to criticise his efforts.<\/p>\n

One Blades fan said: \u201cI\u2019m not sure about Bindon, he looked out of his depth,\u201d while another added: \u201cBindon got turned inside out for the first two goals.\u201d<\/p>\n

One added: \u201cBindon was awful today,\u201d with another Blades fan adding: \u2018Bindon hasn\u2019t filled me with confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another fan said: \u201cHave we kept the receipt for Bindon?\u201d While another said: \u201cBindon looked lost.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not the perfect introduction, then, but there were some signs to suggest that Bindon could grow into life at Championship level.<\/p>\n

Tyler Bindon may need time to adapt to the Championship<\/p>\n

His talent is well known, but at 20 years old and in his first Championship appearance, Bindon could\u2019ve done with a calm, experienced head alongside him.<\/p>\n

There were some positive signs in Bindon\u2019s display, completing the most passes in the game while also winning both of the tackles he attempted.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, then, the Blades can find a defender to help the Forest loanee adapt to the league and show what he did at League One level.<\/p>\n
