A police investigation has begun after Ipswich player Jack Taylor was apparently struck by a Birmingham City supporter. <\/b><\/p>\n

The alleged incident happened on Friday night, during the match that saw the teams draw 1-1<\/a> as they kicked off their Championship season at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park.<\/p>\n

After forward George Hirst scored a penalty in injury time, Ipswich’s celebrations led to a melee involving several players from both sides, during which Taylor was allegedly assaulted.<\/p>\n
