Government officials have welcomed the development as a key step towards narrowing the country\u2019s digital divide, as it aligns with the focus areas of the Somali National <a href=\"https:\/\/moct.gov.so\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/National-ICT-Policy-Strategy-2019-2024.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICT Policy and Strategy<\/a> (2019\u20132024), including the establishment of domestic digital infrastructure and facilitating access.<\/p>\n<p>Starlink is set to expand internet coverage and significantly advance digital inclusion across Somalia, especially in a country where <a href=\"https:\/\/mof.gov.so\/sites\/default\/files\/Publications\/ToR%20Digital%20Infrastructure%20Specialist%20%281%29.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">70%<\/a> of the population struggles to access broadband services. Starlink\u2019s residential offering is priced at <strong>USD 70<\/strong> per month, with a one-time hardware cost of <strong>USD 390<\/strong>.
