After showing off Tom Holland in his brand new suit<\/a> for\u00a0Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a>,\u00a0Sony continues its soft marketing launch with a new video showing its first day of production in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve been on social media in the past week, you\u2019ve probably seen some snippets of filming from the public. This behind-the-scenes vignette offers a better quality of what those people saw with their own eyes, showing not just Holland wowing the crowd with his new suit (and taking pics with similarly dressed kids), but chatting with director Daniel Destin Cretton as they film a setpiece involving a tank likely in the posession of\u2026someone; it\u2019s unclear who, but fans have their theories about who that insignia on the side belongs to. We still don\u2019t know who the film\u2019s main villain is, just that Hulk, Scorpion<\/a>, and Punisher<\/a> are all set to appear.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Our official reason for this video is August 10 marks Peter Parker\u2019s birthday in the MCU, referencing the cover date of Amazing Fantasy #15<\/a>,\u00a0where Spider-Man first debuted. But unofficially, it\u2019s also a way for Sony to tout that\u00a0Brand New Day\u00a0is being shot on location, and with real stunts to boot.\u00a0Spider-Man: No Way Home\u00a0was dinged for its sometimes iffy visual effects, some of which was owed to it being shot during the early days of the pandemic. Those times were\u00a0stressful,\u00a0according to\u00a0Home\u00a0trilogy director Jon Watts<\/a>, but Marvel\u2019s now at a time where it wants to show its moviemaking homework.\u00a0Thunderbolts\u00a0was promoted with the promise of Florence Pugh jumping off a skyscraper<\/a> and notable behind the camera talent<\/a>, Fantastic Four\u00a0used miniatures and sets, now here\u2019s\u00a0Brand New Day\u00a0doing its own version of both.<\/p>\n

Spider-Man: Brand New Day\u00a0comes to theaters on July 31, 2026.<\/p>\n
