Telly comic Jimmy Carr <\/a>has compared Prince Harry<\/a> to Kanye West<\/a> – saying both had \u2018dressed up\u2019 as Nazis and \u2018f***** up\u2019.<\/p>\n

The comedian and 8 Out of 10 Cats presenter<\/a> took a pop at the Duke of Sussex in a clip<\/a> of his stand-up routine which has gone viral. Carr, 52, was referring to Harry, 40, donning a Nazi costume for a fancy dress party in 2005<\/a>. Multiple Grammy-winning rapper West, 48, has shared pro-Nazi messages online<\/a> – though recently insisted he \u2018renounced\u2019 anti-Semitism.<\/p>\n

Carr\u2019s gag was shared on his official Instagram account – which boasts 2.5million followers – captioned \u2018Prince William Vs Prince Harry<\/a> \u2019. He fired it off after an audience member asked which of the Royal brothers he preferred.<\/p>\n

Carr said: \u201cThe Royal Family<\/a> – well, if you can imagine, they’re like our Kardashians<\/a>. Prince Harry is very much our Kanye. He occasionally dresses as a Nazi – and he f***** up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some backed the gag praising the comic for “quite a smart answer”. But others supported the prince. One said: “Harry just can’t catch a break, can he.” Another wrote: “You lost me. Harry is a treasure.”<\/p>\n

Harry has previously blamed the Prince and Princess of Wales for his Nazi gaffe<\/a> at a fancy dress bash hosted by Olympic showjumper Richard Meade. In his book Spare the Duke of Sussex said he called his brother and sister-in-law for advice about whether to wear the Nazi uniform or a pilot’s outfit for the \u2018Native and Colonial\u2019 themed do.<\/p>\n

He wrote: \u201cI phoned Willy and Kate, asked what they thought. Nazi uniform, they said. They both howled. Worse than Willy’s leotard outfit! Way more ridiculous! Which, again, was the point.\u201d<\/p>\n

Photos of him in the outfit sparked international outrage for which then 20-year-old Harry apologised. He said: \u201cI am very sorry if I have caused any offence or embarrassment to anyone. It was a poor choice of costume and I apologise.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harry later admitted on Netflix<\/a> dressing as a Nazi was one of the “biggest mistakes” of his life, adding all he “wanted to do was make it right”. He met then-Chief Rabbi the late Jonathan Sacks and spoke to a Holocaust survivor in a bid to repair the damage.<\/p>\n

In May Kanye – reality TV star Kim Kardashian\u2019s ex-husband – sparked outrage by releasing a track called Heil Hitler<\/a> (Hooligan Version). In 2022 he tweeted that he was going \u2018death con 3 on Jewish people\u2019 which led to him being dropped by his agency CAA, production company MRC, Adidas, Gap and Balenciaga.<\/p>\n

The Yeezy designer – who has worn swastika and \u2018White Lives Matter\u2019 t-shirts – has repeatedly spoken about his disdain for Jewish people and his adoration of Nazi Germany dictator Adolf Hitler.<\/p>\n

But the 24-time Grammy winning hip-hop star has since told his 69.4m followers on X: “I am done with antisemitism. God forgive me for the pain I’ve caused. I forgive those who have caused me pain. Thank you God.”<\/p>\n

He said he had rejected his Nazi persona after getting a “FaceTime from my kids”. \u201cI wanna save the world again,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
