A paraglider terrifyingly crashed onto a cliff after her “parachute collapsed” while landing.<\/p>\n
Ambulances, police and other emergency crews rushed to the scenic Beer Head Coast Path in Devon<\/a> on Friday afternoon following reports of the shocking incident. The female paraglider crash landed, falling the last 10ft after her chute collapsed according to the Beer Coastguard Rescue<\/a> Team. She was transferred to an ambulance and then rushed to a hospital<\/a>.<\/p>\n The terrifying incident happened on the picturesque Beer Head Coast Path on the Devon coast, popular with walkers and tourists, DevonLive<\/a> reports. It comes after a kitesurfer noticed a stick in ocean but then realised something was alive on the end<\/a>.<\/p>\n Sharing details of the incident, Beer Coastguard Rescue Team said it was “tasked to a female paragliding who had crasd landed falling the last 10 feet after her chute collapsed.” They added: “She had landed on her back and was in a lot of pain.<\/p>\n “Initial casualty care [was] provided by us until the paramedics arrived on scene. Lyme Regis Coastguard also tasked along with HART [Hazardous Area Response Team].<\/p>\n “Different extraction methods to get the casualty back to the ambulance were considered. It was decided to use the HART 6 wheeled polaris vehicle, this being the smoothest option.<\/p>\n “The casualty was transferred to [an] ambulance for [the] onward journey to hospital. We wish her a speedy recovery.”<\/p>\n It comes after another paraglider and his pilot tragically plunged thousands of feet<\/a> to their deaths after their parachute malfunctioned in a horror accident. The Brit had been in the Babadag paragliding spot in Fethiye, Turkey<\/a>, and leaped from a 6,500ft mountain under the care of his pilot in April.<\/p>\n Their parachute malfunctioned shortly after their 11.45am takeoff, Turkish media reported. A 22 and 29-year-old were sent plummeting on jagged rocks set along the mountainside.
