Ruben Amorim<\/a> has been urged to make a U-turn and intervene after Rasmus Hojlund<\/a> reluctantly agreed to leave Manchester United<\/a>.<\/p>\n Hojlund, 22, recently insisted he intended to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place in the team<\/a> despite the club\u2019s interest in Benjamin Sesko.<\/p>\n Manchester United have since completed a \u00a374m deal for Slovenia striker Sesko<\/a>, raising more doubt over Hojlund\u2019s future at the club.<\/p>\n United spent \u00a372m on Hojlund back in 2023 but the Danish forward has flopped at Old Trafford, scoring just four Premier League goals last season.<\/p>\n Amorim left Hojlund on the bench for United\u2019s final pre-season friendly against Fiorentina on Saturday<\/a>, instead opting to play Mason Mount as a false nine.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tYour ultimate guide to the football season\t\t\t<\/p>\n In The Mixer: Exclusive analysis, FPL tips and transfer talk sent straight to your inbox every week \u2013 sign up<\/a>, it’s an open goal.<\/p>\n Sesko watched on from the stands after being unveiled to the fans inside Old Trafford and is expected to come straight into the side for United\u2019s Premier League opener against Arsenal next weekend.<\/p>\n Following the arrival of Sesko, Hojlund has reluctantly accepted his Manchester United career is over, according to talkSPORT<\/a>.<\/p>\n \t\t Italian giants AC Milan are open to signing Hojlund<\/a>, who enjoyed a promising season in Serie A before his miserable spell in the Premier League.<\/p>\n Hojlund reportedly rejected a move to RB Leipzig earlier in the summer during United\u2019s talks for Sesko but has now changed his stance and agreed to leave.<\/p>\n Manchester United want around \u00a330m for Hojlund<\/a> but AC Milan are hoping to secure his signature on an initial loan deal.<\/p>\n Ex-Old Trafford striker Dimitar Berbatov admits Hojlund has been a disappointment but says he could benefit from the competition from Sesko\u2019s arrival should he stay put.<\/p>\n \u2018I am excited with Sesko going to United, but at the same time I am a bit cautious because Hojlund and Zirkzee were performing great in their previous clubs.<\/p>\n \u2018I watched how they moved, how they bullied defenders, how they scored goals, but then going to the Premier League, they found it difficult to adjust.<\/p>\n \u2018And the stats speak for themselves, right? Now I\u2019m going to show you. Now I\u2019m going to fight for my place. Now I\u2019m going to bring the fire.\u201d<\/p>\n \u2018So it\u2019s a two-way scenario. You choose the one I said or the other. So let\u2019s see what they are going to bring to the table as well.<\/p>\n \u2018You always want the competition, but at the same time, as a striker, because we think we\u2019re special, you need to feel welcome and wanted in the team, by the coach, by everybody.<\/p>\n \u2018Then your motivation is going to be higher and your self-esteem is going to be higher. It\u2019s a lot of factors. It\u2019s not easy, but it\u2019s all in the head.\u2019<\/p>\n Fellow former Manchester United star Mikael Silvestre also believes it would be a mistake to offload Hojlund before the transfer deadline.<\/p>\n \u2018Marcus Rashford has gone and there are not a lot of strikers around, Joshua Zirkzee is a different type of striker that doesn\u2019t make those runs in behind the defence,\u2019 Silvestre told Hajper<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018He is another type of player for certain games, certain opposition. But no, you need competition, need quality, so I wouldn\u2019t rush into sending Rasmus Hojlund out on loan if Sesko signs.
