The Vector AI is capable of both reconnaissance and locating enemy artillery positions, with its AI processing data to pinpoint firing locations.

The UAV is fitted with the WASP (Weles Acoustic Sensor Payload) developed by Polish manufacturer Weles Acoustics, a subsidiary of Quantum Systems.

“Acoustic sensing has arrived above the Ukrainian frontlines. VectorAI is capable of sensing direction/distance of artillery being fired boosting a flight time of up to 4 hours,” Seibel said.

According to Militarnyi, the 150-gram sensor can detect artillery fire from up to 15 km away and small arms fire at distances of up to 2.5 km.

Oleksandr Berezhnyi, head of Quantum Systems’ Ukrainian office, told Militarnyi that the Vector AI uses serial-production components and is undergoing trials at Ukrainian military training grounds and during combat missions, with ongoing software upgrades.

“The tests we are conducting with the acoustic sensor aim, among other things, to demonstrate to the military command the additional capabilities of Quantum Systems’ products for potential follow-on orders,” Berezhnyi said.

The company has also integrated WASP sensors into its Twister UAVs.

“As of today, the solution has already been integrated with both the Vector and the Twister. In the future, all of the company’s products will support the option of carrying this payload,” Berezhnyi noted.

The system’s declared detection accuracy is 5 degrees at a range of 5 km—enough for approximate target location.

Earlier, a ground-based robotic platform used by the National Guard of Ukraine’s 13th Brigade “Khartia” successfully carried out a dual mission—delivering supplies to frontline positions and evacuating a wounded soldier over a distance of 34 kilometers.

Fundraiser For Peaceful Nights

$1,500,000 towards 10 Ukrainian AI-Controlled Turrets.

                Related articles

German drone manufacturer Quantum Systems has provided Ukraine with a Vector AI unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with artificial…

[5310
2000,299,1824
0":"post-335361","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-germany","8":"tag-eu","9":"tag-europe","10":"tag-germany
["GET
