Google gifted Pixel 9 users with a free year-long subscription<\/a> to its newly enhanced AI One Pro last month. With the launch of the Fold 7<\/a>, Samsung made a similar free offer that flew under the radar.<\/p>\n This story was updated on August 11th with a new deal Samsung is emailing out to select users. <\/p>\n Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 users qualify for six months of Google AI One Pro, which typically costs $19.99 per month. AI One Pro is essentially Google\u2019s rebranded AI Premium subscription<\/a> tier, which includes access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, filmmaking tool Flow, Gemini in Workspace apps and 2TB of storage, alongside other AI tools.<\/p>\n To redeem the offer, download and sign into the Google One app. You should then be presented with the offer. As I was already a subscriber, Google gave me a six-month payment break until February 2026 and a small refund on what I paid for that month. Samsung has repeatedly said that the toolset is free until \u201cthe end of 2025,\u201d and refused to elaborate further. I quizzed the company about this at the recent Galaxy Z Fold 7 press briefing, but got no firm answer on pricing plans. I suspect Samsung is waiting to see how popular Galaxy AI is, and to see if people actually use it regularly, before charging.<\/p>\n I imagine Apple\u2019s troubles with launching its own personalised Siri, which was promised and then delayed to some criticism, is part of Samsung\u2019s (and Google\u2019s) thinking. If their chief smartphone rival is getting some flak for failing to deliver promised AI features, then making your own product free makes it more enticing. Google\u2019s new Pixel 10 ad suggests that is very much the company\u2019s strategy<\/a>.<\/p>\n Update August 11th<\/strong>: These freebies are only available to Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 and Galaxy S25 owners. So if you\u2019re looking to claim the free Google One AI Pro subscription via one of these devices, Samsung has just released a new double offer for the Flip 7.<\/p>\n Samsung has boosted trade-in prices by \u00a3150 ($201) if the code \u201cFLIPSIDE\u201d is used at checkout and a device is traded-in. There\u2019s also a second bespoke 15-digit code that has been sent out to registered Samsung users, which knocks an additional \u00a3100 off ($134) the 512GB storage option.<\/p>\n\n
