{"id":336169,"date":"2025-08-11T16:33:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-11T16:33:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/336169\/"},"modified":"2025-08-11T16:33:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-11T16:33:11","slug":"completely-out-of-hand-concerns-over-late-night-fireworks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/336169\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Completely out of hand&#8221;: Concerns over late night fireworks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><strong>By John Baron<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Calverley &amp; Farsley councillor has raised concerns about the anti-social use of fireworks, which are causing widespread concern among residents late at night.<\/p>\n<p>Councillor Andrew Carter (Cons, Calverley &amp; Farsley) has called for an end to importing cheap fireworks from China \u2013 and is lobbying for more action from police.<\/p>\n<p>He said the police\u2019s reputation was \u201cnot being done any good by a lack of action\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In a video posted on his Facebook page, Cllr Carter said: \u201cI want to talk about the fireworks that are being let off with increasing regularity, coming from the Pudsey end of the ward, up towards Bradford, indeed into Bradford.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSurely the way to stop access to these cheap, very dangerous fireworks is to ban the import from China \u2013 because that\u2019s where most of them come from.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe police seem unable to stop these occurrences, often late at night, and accompanied by cars racing around at dangerous speeds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt really is time for action.
