{"id":336762,"date":"2025-08-11T21:50:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-11T21:50:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/336762\/"},"modified":"2025-08-11T21:50:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-11T21:50:14","slug":"what-annabel-croft-noticed-about-emma-raducanus-new-coach-during-her-match-against-aryna-sabalenka-in-cincinnati","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/336762\/","title":{"rendered":"What Annabel Croft noticed about Emma Raducanu&#8217;s new coach during her match against Aryna Sabalenka in Cincinnati"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Emma Raducanu was remarkable throughout her match against Aryna Sabalenka, despite once again losing to the world number one.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, nobody can deny the remarkable progress she is making, able to consistently compete with the very best that the WTA has to offer.<\/p>\n<p>This marks the second time in as many months that the 22-year-old has pushed <a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tag\/aryna-sabalenka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aryna Sabalenka<\/a> to the brink, and it\u2019s clear that a big win is coming.<\/p>\n<p>With the US Open just around the corner, and a seeded spot all but secured, there\u2019s every chance it could come on the biggest stage of all.<\/p>\n<p>It will certainly be interesting to see how she performs in New York, with the new backing that her new coach will offer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Francisco Roig was very vocal during Emma Raducanu\u2019s match<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Already we have seen what kind of a coach Francisco Roig will be, with the Sky Sports broadcast providing plenty of insight into this new relationship during her <a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tag\/cincinnati-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cincinnati Open<\/a> match.<\/p>\n<p>After all, there was clearly a microphone placed nearby his seat, allowing us to hear plenty of his mid-match advice aimed at <a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tennis\/emma-raducanu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emma Raducanu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/GettyImages-2229294886-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Francisco Roig puts his thumb up to Emma Raducanu\" \/>Photo by Matthew Stockman\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Particularly in the first set, he provided the British number one with serving instructions, tactical insight and motivation, with one comment in particular interesting Annabel Croft.<\/p>\n<p>As Raducanu hit a scorching winner off a Sabalenka second serve, Roig told her to be \u2018brave and calm.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>This led Croft to claim: \u201cIt\u2019s clear from the evidence of what we are watching from the sidelines that he is a disciplinarian who demands focus and intensity. He is going to be expecting a lot, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then asked if being coached by someone of his stature will boost Raducanu, she continued: \u201cI think she always backs herself to be honest.
