Greece appears to have been the destination of choice for several royals this summer. The Prince<\/strong> and\u00a0Princess of Wales<\/strong>, along with their three children, Prince<\/strong> George<\/strong>, Princess<\/strong> Charlotte<\/strong> and Prince<\/strong> Louis<\/strong>, reportedly holidayed in the country last month.<\/p>\n

According to the Daily Mail<\/a>, locals in Kefalonia swore “blind that the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children George, 12, Charlotte, ten, and seven-year-old Louis arrived on the island by private Lear jet on July 16. Also in tow, others insisted, were the future King’s in-laws, Carole<\/strong> and Michael<\/strong> Middleton<\/strong>. All were then driven to a waiting superyacht.” \u00a0<\/p>\n

The outlet<\/a> noted earlier this month that it was understood that Prince William and Catherine had vacationed in Greece, traveling “around the idyllic Ionian Islands on a luxury \u00a340million yacht.”<\/p>\n

At some point during their family vacation, Prince George reportedly had a “specific dietary” request. A source told the Daily Mail<\/a>, “George required a specific dietary item which led to the tender going ashore in Zakynthos to purchase it. Nothing extravagant, just something particular.”<\/p>\n

One onlooker who claimed to have seen the Waleses in Greece, recalled to the\u00a0Daily Mail, “Kate was standing on the top level with Charlotte and Louis,” adding, “There was an older lady next to them, possibly Kate\u2019s mother, but I wasn\u2019t able to see her well.”<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail reported on Aug. 2 that it had “learned that not once during the sailing trip did the royals set foot on any of the islands” and that it was “thought to have been considered but quickly ruled out because of security concerns. Instead the royals made good use of a platform that transforms the stern hatch into a private beach area, where they swam and played on inflatables and paddleboards.”<\/p>\n

The Prince and Princess of Wales aren’t the only members of the British royal family who traveled to Greece this summer. On Aug. 8, the Mirror<\/a> published photos of\u00a0King Charles<\/strong>‘ wife Queen Camilla<\/strong> onboard a yacht belonging to Wafic Sa\u00efd in Greece.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition to the British royals, the country has reportedly welcomed Spanish royals this summer. Per Mujer Hoy<\/a>, the Falcon aircraft used by the Spanish royal family arrived in Greece last week. Both Mujer Hoy<\/a> and HOLA! Spain<\/a> pointed out that\u00a0King Felipe<\/strong>, Queen<\/strong> Letizia<\/strong> and their teenage daughters, Princess<\/strong> Leonor<\/strong> and Infanta<\/strong> Sofia<\/strong>, could be staying at King Willem-Alexander<\/strong> and Queen Maxima\u00a0<\/strong>of the Netherlands’ place in the Peloponnese region. Felipe has ties to Greece, as his mother,\u00a0Queen Sofia<\/strong>, sister of the last King of Greece, Constantine II<\/strong>, was born there.<\/p>\n

Before reportedly heading to Greece, the Spanish royals were in Palma de Mallorca, where Felipe and Letizia hosted the traditional summer reception at Marivent Palace. Leonor and Sofia joined their parents and grandmother Queen Sofia at the reception for the first time<\/a> last Monday. The next day, the King, Queen and their daughters stepped out to view a Joan Mir\u00f3 exhibition at La Lonja<\/a>. Following their summer together, Infanta Sofia will leave Spain to begin her first year at Forward College<\/a>, while Leonor will enter her third and final year of military training, joining the San Javier General Air Academy as an Ensign Student.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Greece appears to have been the destination of choice for several royals this summer.
