Keeper Jack Butland made another costly mistake for Levitt\u2019s opener and his manager warned that no-one\u2019s place is safe for the first-leg against Bilbao.<\/p>\n
Ferguson accused his side of failing to get themselves up for \u2018bread and butter\u2019 league games, while raising their standard for matches against Celtic or in Europe.<\/p>\n
The former club captain questioned whether his players are hurting as much as he is.<\/p>\n
Ferguson said: \u201cGod, where do I start? That\u2019s worse than disappointing.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve spent a bit of time in the dressing room, and a few home truths were told.<\/p>\n
\u201cHibs deserved to win. That\u2019s not a Rangers team. It\u2019s miles from being a Rangers team.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the bread and butter. European games, Celtic games, they\u2019re the easiest to get up for.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut these are the games this group of players struggle with and it was evident today.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe started well. But then another mistake and they go into their shells, feeling sorry for themselves.<\/p>\n
\u201cI demanded a lot more in the second half and didn\u2019t get it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI struggle to understand why they can\u2019t get themselves up for games like this.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re playing with Glasgow Rangers. If you can\u2019t get up for games, you shouldn\u2019t be playing.<\/p>\n
\u201cEspecially here, at a brilliant stadium in front of these supporters.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey get behind you and we put on a performance like that? As you can probably hear, I\u2019m fuming.<\/p>\n
\u201cAre they hurting like I am? I\u2019ve asked them that question.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause when I go home tonight, I\u2019ll be raging. I won\u2019t want to see anybody.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt needs to hurt you. That\u2019s my question to them.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere will be a series of changes on Thursday night, I can say that right now.<\/p>\n
\u201cDoes that include the goalkeeper? I\u2019ve said to Jack it\u2019s a bad mistake and he accepts that.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou will see some changes when you get the team lines on Thursday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s why you carry a squad. If people make mistakes or they\u2019re off it, or they don\u2019t run as much as I think they should run – they\u2019re not going to play in my team.<\/p>\n
\u201cI watched Hibs today and they wanted it more than us. It hurts me to say that.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s my job to come up with a scenario where that won\u2019t happen going forward.<\/p>\n

Ferguson has vowed not just to make changes to his line-up – but also to his tactics going forward.<\/p>\n
He hinted that his side might need to try and win ugly to get points in the league – and suggested a different approach against top La Liga side Athletic in midweek.<\/p>\n
The stand-in boss said: \u201cI\u2019m not just putting it on the players. I need to go away myself because I\u2019m the guy who picks the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m the one who decides how we approach games.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I\u2019ve made my mind up on how we\u2019ll go now until the end of the season.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt might not be pretty to watch. As a Rangers fan you want to come to Ibrox and see free-flowing attacking football.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I don\u2019t think we can do that. So I need to have a long hard think with my staff.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve got a good idea what way I\u2019m going to go now for the rest of the season. And it\u2019s not going to change.<\/p>\n
\u201cI haven\u2019t watched Bilbao because I\u2019m game to game and I had to concentrate on Hibs.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy staff have watched them and obviously I will too.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know they\u2019re a quality team but these are the games where you don\u2019t need to motivate people because it\u2019s Europe.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a different kind of atmosphere. That doesn\u2019t concern me.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s these games today that concern me. They\u2019ve been the Achilles heel for this club for far too long now.<\/p>\n
