A man has been arrested and charged following the sexual assault <\/a>of a woman on an Edinburgh city centre street.<\/p>\n

On Sunday August 10 at around 11.15pm, officers raced to Nicolson Street after being made aware of the incident<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The male was also charged in connection with the assault of a man, along with resisting arrest and an assault on two police officers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pictures taken from the scene show a large police presence outside the Lidl supermarket, reports Edinburgh Live.<\/a><\/p>\n

The man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court <\/a>on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 38-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a sexual assault on a woman and an assault on a man in Nicolson Street, Edinburgh at 11.15pm on Sunday, 10 August, 2025.<\/p>\n

“He was also charged in connection with resisting arrest and an assault on two police officers.<\/p>\n

“He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 12 August, 2025 in connection.”<\/p>\n
