A royal book claims Meghan Markle<\/a> deliberately undermined a royal aide in a “very public way” during her time as a senior working royal. The book ‘Courtiers,’ by royal author Valentine Low explores the relationship between modern courtiers and members of the Royal Family<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Writing in the biography, Valentine Low claims Meghan deliberately undermined senior royal aide, Jason Knauff, leading to some “awkward moments”. The most public snubbing of Jason came in December 2018 when Meghan made a surprise appearance at the British Fashion Awards at the Royal Albert Hall<\/a> to present an award to the designer of her wedding dress.<\/p>\n

The author writes that the press was not aware of the royals’ attendance, and Jason also did not know Meghan was attending the ceremony until she was on stage.<\/p>\n

The author wrote: “It was an astonishing example of how badly their relationship had deteriorated that Meghan did not even trust him to keep a simple confidence.”<\/p>\n

Furthermore, it is claimed Meghan also allegedly refused to let Sam Cohen or her assistant private secretary Amy Pickerill tell Jason about the event.<\/p>\n

Jason shortly left working for the Sussexes to take up a new role as a special adviser to Prince William<\/a> and Princess Kate. Later, the advisor sent an internal email raising concerns about Meghan’s alleged poor treatment of staff in the Royal Family<\/a>, which was leaked after Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan stepped down as working royals in 2020.<\/p>\n

The leaked letter stated: “I am very concerned that the Duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year. The treatment of X was totally unacceptable..”<\/p>\n

Jason is now the chief executive of William’s Earthshot Prize which was launched by the Prince in 2020 to search for and scale the most innovative solutions to tackle climate change.<\/p>\n

He spoke in an Australian documentary,<\/a> earlier this year, and said: “We have ups and downs in family even when you really love someone you can have times when you don’t want to spend that much time with them.<\/p>\n

“It’s very difficult to have this stuff play out in the public eye but he’s chosen to keep his thoughts on it private and I think all of us who know him really have to respect that. We should do the same, but I will say of course it’s been hard and sad, especially for all of us who know both of them.”<\/p>\n

Following reports of alleged poor treatment of staff by Meghan, a producer, Jane Marie, who worked with Harry and Meghan during the development of Archewell Audio projects, insisted to Vanity Fair that Meghan is “just a lovely, genuine person”.<\/p>\n
