{"id":337646,"date":"2025-08-12T05:32:13","date_gmt":"2025-08-12T05:32:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/337646\/"},"modified":"2025-08-12T05:32:13","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T05:32:13","slug":"geezer-broke-down-into-tears-metallicas-rob-trujillo-describes-ozzy-osbournes-beautiful-funeral-rock-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/337646\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Geezer broke down into tears&#8217;: Metallica&#8217;s Rob Trujillo describes Ozzy Osbourne&#8217;s &#8216;beautiful&#8217; funeral | Rock News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"subtitle\">The bassist said there were funny moments too&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Author: Paul TraversPublished 15 hours ago<\/p>\n<p>Robert Trujillo has spoken about <a class=\"article-body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/hellorayo.co.uk\/planet-rock\/news\/rock-news\/ozzy-osbourne-funeral-bridge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ozzy Osbourne\u2019s funeral<\/a>, describing the service as \u201cvery, very beautiful\u201d and adding that there were funny moments as well.<\/p>\n<p>The <a class=\"article-body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/hellorayo.co.uk\/planet-rock\/news\/rock-news\/metallica-greatest-heavy-metal-band\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Metallica<\/a> bassist was part of a select group of musicians invited to the funeral, including Osbourne\u2019s former<a class=\"article-body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/hellorayo.co.uk\/planet-rock\/news\/rock-news\/the-crown-inn-black-sabbath\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Black Sabbath<\/a> bandmates, guitarist Zakk Wylde, Marilyn Manson and Slipknot frontman <a class=\"article-body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/hellorayo.co.uk\/planet-rock\/news\/rock-news\/corey-taylor-injures-testicle-while-screaming-dokken\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Corey Taylor<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the SiriusXM show Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk on August 7, Trujillo revealed: &#8220;It was a small group of people, but it was very, very beautiful. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And in the end, the speeches were actually\u2026 I mean, it was very sad, but at the same time some of the speeches were &#8211; as you could imagine &#8211; pretty funny. And there were a lot of tears&#8230; Geezer broke down into tears. He had a hard time, obviously, speaking, and then he came back up and he delivered an amazing eulogy.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>He continued: \u201cIt had been raining at the beginning of the service,\u201d he explained, \u201cand then as it sort of progressed through the service, the weather would change and different things would happen. When <a class=\"article-body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/hellorayo.co.uk\/planet-rock\/news\/rock-news\/kelly-osbourne-thanks-fans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kelly (Osbourne)<\/a> was singing, her lyrics flew \u2014 the wind blew her lyrics away. It was almost like Ozzy was having fun with her.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Recalling a particularly poignant moment, Trujillo added: \u201cAnd then when Geezer spoke, actually spoke, the sun came out. I\u2019m not kidding.
