You\u2019re probably thinking it would be a hub in a big city, like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">London<\/a> Euston, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/manchester\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester<\/a> Piccadilly or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/birmingham\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a> New Street.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the Britain\u2019s top station for crime in 2024 was a tiny terminal in rural <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/wales\/things-to-do\/best-things-to-do-in-wales\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wales<\/a>, according to analysis by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-14417037\/National-Rail-crime-map.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Daily Mail<\/a>.\u00a0The paper used figures from the British Transport Police (BTP) to rank every train station in the UK\u00a0by crimes per million passengers in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Johnston<\/strong>, an unstaffed stop in the Pembrokeshire village of the same name, saw 10 crimes in 2024. If you\u2019re wondering why Johnston topped the list, this was because only\u00a07,000 passengers used the station in 2024, an equivalent of just 19 a day.\u00a0Four of the 10 recorded crimes were violent, which could be a stabbing or a physical altercation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In second\u00a0place was <strong>Redbridge<\/strong> on the outskirts of Southampton. The station saw 38 crimes per 32,126 passengers. Thirteen of those offences were\u00a0vehicle related, likely break-ins of cars and vans\u00a0in its car park.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Charing station in Kent was in third place with\u00a0104 crimes per 89,516 passengers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In terms of raw numbers, London St Pancras International topped the charts with 1,616 reported incidents.
