\"HowHow the Mosley Common homes will look<\/p>\n

Detailed plans have been tabled for the next phase of a huge housing development set to take shape at Mosley Common in Tyldesley.<\/p>\n

Kellen Homes and Great Places Housing Group have lodged a \u2018reserved matters\u2019 application for 219 homes on land next to the Guided Busway into central Manchester.<\/p>\n

The homes, all of which will be affordable and available for shared ownership, are part of a wider masterplan for more than 1,000 on Mosley Common.<\/p>\n

The masterplan emerged following the approval last year of the strategic document for development across Greater Manchester for the next 14 years, Places for Everyone.<\/p>\n

Proposals will deliver a \u2018high-quality\u2019 mix of two, three and four-bedroom family homes, all designed to be accessible to people uusing wheelchairs.<\/p>\n

There will be a new \u2018community hub\u2019 connecting to a new guided busway stop, improved pedestrian and cycle connections and 12 acred of public open space.<\/p>\n

Included will be woodlands, walks along the nearby Honksford Brook, a multi-use games area (MUGA) and football pitches.<\/p>\n

A design and access statement posted on the Wigan<\/a> planning portal says: \u201cOur vision is to create a vibfrant and thriving heart of Mosley Common, where new and existing communities can gather, engage and socialise.\u201d<\/p>\n

The plan \u2013 badged as phases four to six \u2013 will serve as a \u2018key arrival point\u2019 for the new neighbourhood, offering three significant green spaces \u2013 Mosley Woods, Honksford Meadows and Mosley Mosslands \u2013 an ecological corridor, enhancing biodiversity and supporting wildlife habitats.<\/p>\n
