With destinations such as Benidorm, Mallorca and the Canary Islands, Spain continues to be amongst the most sought-after holiday spots for Britons seeking some sunshine, as the country offers something for every traveller.<\/a><\/p>\n

Whether you’re after a peaceful seaside break, or somewhere you can let loose and celebrate through the night, this varied country <\/a>boasts locations to satisfy all preferences. Yet, what numerous visitors frequently overlook is exploring the nation’s more obscure cities that are equally stunning as the better-known attractions.<\/p>\n

Travel enthusiast Kristina Cors, who regularly uses social media platforms to share her journey tips, has revealed a ‘hidden treasure’ in Spain that sits merely 20 minutes from Malaga and appears to come straight from a storybook.<\/a><\/p>\n

Posting on TikTok, where she boasts more than 751,300 followers, she highlighted one destination she believed every Spain visitor should experience.<\/p>\n

“When people go to Malaga, Spain and miss places like this 20 minutes away,” she captioned the footage.<\/p>\n

She proceeded to showcase clips from her trip to Colomares Castle, situated in the town of Benalma\u0301dena in southern Spain. Despite the castle’s ancient appearance, it was constructed between 1987 to 1994, and was devoted to the life and expeditions of Christopher Columbus.<\/p>\n

Spanning 1,500 metres, it stands as the world’s largest tribute to the explorer, whilst also housing the globe’s tiniest church, occupying merely 1.96 square metres. In her video, Kristina displayed glimpses of the castles from various perspectives, most of which featured flowers blooming magnificently in the scenic footage.<\/p>\n

She was also captured strolling around the castle grounds and positioned on a balcony, absorbing the vistas that appeared straight from a storybook.<\/p>\n

“Don’t go to Spain without visiting THIS incredible castle,” she penned in the video’s caption.<\/p>\n

Numerous individuals swiftly flocked to the comments section, with many drawing comparisons between the castle and ‘The Spring Court’ from the fantasy novel series A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas.<\/p>\n

“Wow,” one person simply commented, whilst another remarked: ” Been there once, really worth a visit!”.<\/p>\n

“I live 5 minutes away from this castle and it’s stunning,” another viewer noted.<\/p>\n

“Omg… I feel like I’m in a fairytale,” a fourth person declared.<\/p>\n

If you’re exploring Malaga but prefer not to drive the 20 minutes to reach Colomares Castle, another individual suggested: “[Take] the train from Malaga to Arroyo de la Miel, then bus to the village of Benalmadena pueblo. Its a 2\u20ac entrance fee, go early morning and explore the church grounds nearby too.”<\/p>\n
