\">Birmingham City Council is planning more property sales as it attempts to find a way forward after becoming engulfed by a financial crisis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">An array of properties and land have been sold since the start of last year amid the recent turmoil, which saw the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/labour-party\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Labour<\/a> -run authority effectively declaring itself bankrupt in September 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">They include the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/bordesley-green-and-small-heath\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Bordesley Green<\/a> \u2018Wheels\u2019 site, where a new stadium for <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a> City FC has been proposed as part of the massive Sports Quarter regeneration project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong huge range of other assets have also been sold through negotiations or auctions, raising millions and millions of pounds for the cash-strapped council.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Plans for more property sales are set to be considered at a council meeting next week \u2013 they involve assets such as a Victorian cottage in Sutton Park, the site of former swimming baths in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/yardley-and-stechford\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Stechford<\/a>, a \u2018core retail asset\u2019 in the city centre and Lloyd House, the headquarters of <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/west-midlands-police\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">West Midlands Police<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The list of proposed property sales is as follows:<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Lloyd House, Colmore Circus, Birmingham, B4 6AT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Sale of freehold interest comprising land and building<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The council says: \u201cBoth leasehold interests are currently producing a fixed income and due to expire in June 2060.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cFollowing a sale of the freehold interest, the council will forfeit receipt of rents in exchange for an agreed capital sum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Former Cascades Swimming Baths, Stechford B33 8QN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Sale and selection of bid<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">According to a report, the former Cascades Swimming Baths closed in 2018 and the building was subsequently demolished.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A new leisure centre was developed on the adjoining site and opened to the public in tandem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The site occupies a prominent position with good transport links and is accessed directly from Station Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Open marketing for the property commenced in February 2025, with the site being marketed for a wide range of uses including residential development for affordable housing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Former Coleshill Road Garden Nursery, Coleshill Road, Sutton Coldfield B75 7BA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Sale and selection of bid<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The council says: \u201cThe property comprises a former garden nursery that was operated until recently by the council.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThe site extends to approximately 2.75 acres and consists of land, outbuildings and a three-bedroom detached bungalow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Midland Lodge, Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield B74 2YP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh Park and is described as a two-storey Victorian cottage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The property was built in the late 1800s and is adjacent to the Midland Gate entrance to the park.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cWith the reduced need for onsite park rangers and the ongoing maintenance costs \/ requirement for significant investment to upgrade the property to current standards, the property became vacant several years ago,\u201d a report said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">1459 Pershore Road, Stirchley, Birmingham<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Disposal<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A council report said: \u201cThe property is vacant and was previously used for office\/administrative uses by the council.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It went on to describe it as an early 1990s single storey office\/administration building, with eight car spaces.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">67 Sutton New Road, Erdington, Birmingham<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Disposal<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The property is a vacant, four-storey office building which was previously used by the council.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThe purchaser is an established organisation in the city and the proposal could bring substantial employment to the local area, as well as providing services that could assist in addressing health inequalities and socioeconomic issues,\u201d a council report said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Approval for disposal of JQ assets (cafe block)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The \u2018Caf\u00e9\u2019 Block, 36-41 Vyse St &amp; 2,4 &amp; 6 Hylton St, Birmingham B18 6JY<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">According to a council report, the property comprises a \u201crelatively small multi-let commercial mixed-use asset\u201d on Vyse Street in the Jewellery Quarter,<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThe property has the potential for longer term refurbishment and may have the possibility of partial redevelopment in accordance with the recently approved JQ Neighbourhood Plan,\u201d a report said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It continued the plans increasingly provide for a balance of uses between preserving the traditional jewellery-related occupiers and an introduction of culture and tourism needs as well as \u201cemerging residential conversion uses\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Gazette Building and Court Chambers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Approval for disposal of core retail asset in the city centre<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" Newspaper\u2019, originated by Thomas Aris in 1741.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThe adjacent Court Chambers was built on the site of the old George and Crown Inn and was used as an informal dining club, named \u2018Lincolns Inn Restaurant\u2019 for members of the legal profession practicing in the area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It continued: \u201cSignificant investment is now required to bring this period asset, some of which is likely to be Listed, into better repair and a more lettable condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThe potential in longer term redevelopment may lie in providing additional student housing in the
