The nominations have just been announced for this year\u2019s National Pub &amp; Bar Awards \u2013 and no less than eight of London\u2019s finest drinking holes have made the cut.<\/p>\n<p>The National Pub &amp; Bar Awards are run by Pub &amp; Bar magazine and they\u2019re intended, as you may have guessed from the name, to celebrate the best of Britain\u2019s boozers. The awards take into account stuff like \u2018marketing, digital presence, design, service, style of offer and investment\u2019, dishing out a range of regional and national awards.<\/p>\n<p>In the 2025 edition of the National Pub &amp; Bar Awards a total of 256 pubs and bars across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have been shortlisted. In London the nominees are split into two \u2018regions\u2019, with three pubs in the City of London and five in Greater London.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the noms from Greater London are two legendary Soho pubs: Time Out favourite <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/bars-and-pubs\/french-house\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The French House<\/a> <\/strong>and hyped boozer <strong>The Devonshire<\/strong> (which was also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/news\/londons-best-gastropub-has-been-crowned-for-2025-but-is-it-any-good-012825\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">named London\u2019s best gastropub earlier this year<\/a>). Islington\u2019s <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/bars-pubs\/the-baring\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Baring<\/a><\/strong>, Highgate\u2019s <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/bars-and-pubs\/red-lion-sun\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Red Lion and Sun<\/a> <\/strong>and <strong>The Walmer Castle <\/strong>\u2013 one of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/bars-and-pubs\/notting-hill-pubs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Notting Hill\u2019s top pubs<\/a> \u2013 round out the five.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"0634dafc-512f-c3e9-3c4f-a277ecd35d4f\" class=\"photo lazy inline\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"lazy-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/1745097502_377_image.webp.webp\" alt=\"The Wren Tavern, City of London pub\" data-caption=\"\" data-credit=\"Photograph: The Wren Tavern \/ National Pub and Bar Awards\" data-width-class=\"\" data-image-id=\"106265380\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\nPhotograph: The Wren Tavern \/ National Pub and Bar Awards&#13;<\/p>\n<p>In the City, the shortlisted establishments are sports bar <strong>Goldwood<\/strong>, Leadenhall Market\u2019s <strong>Lamb Tavern <\/strong>and <strong>The Wren Tavern\u00a0<\/strong>(pictured above) near Bank.
