Sarah Michelle Gellar<\/a> is reuniting with a recent co-star on the hotly-anticipated Buffy reboot.<\/p>\n

The protagonist of the beloved vampire slayer series is reprising the role of Buffy Summers<\/a> in Hulu’s reboot pilot directed by Eternals’ Chlo\u00e9 Zhao.<\/p>\n

Joining Gellar and new Slayer Nova, played by Ryan Kiera Armstrong<\/a>, is I Know What You Did Last Summer star Chase Sui Wonders in a supporting role. <\/p>\n

Wonders, who also stars on AppleTV+’s acclaimed The Studio, and Gellar met while filming the legacy sequel of I Know What You Did Last Summer, which saw Gellar briefly return as Helen Shivers in a dream sequence. <\/p>\n

“That’s right, I got my bestie to come play with me,” Gellar confirmed in her Instagram Stories.<\/p>\n

As for Wonders, she said Gellar is “just such a force to be reckoned with” (via Deadline<\/a>).<\/p>\n

“We became fast friends on I Know What You Did last Summer. She’s an incredible woman and just a cool person, and she asked me if I wanted to do it. <\/p>\n

“Then she told me about Chlo\u00e9 Zhao directing and [Nora and Lilla Zuckerman] showrunning. And then Eric Kissack, who is actually our editor on The Studio, is also editing the Buffy series.”<\/p>\n

Details of Wonders’ role on the Buffy reboot are being kept under wraps, but it’s been revealed her character’s name is Shirley. <\/p>\n

The pilot is currently filming in Los Angeles, with Gellar starring and acting as a consultant for all things Buffy.<\/p>\n

“What I can say is that it’s a very fun way to enter this series,” Wonders said of her role, “and [Gellar] is on set every day, from as soon as we start to when we wrap. She’s very hands on.”

Also starring in the reboot<\/a> are Severance’s Sarah Bock as well as Faly Rakotohavana (Secret Society of Second-Born Royals), Ava Jean (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Daniel di Tomasso (Witches of East End), and Jack Cutmore-Scott (Frasier).<\/p>\n

The <\/strong>Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/strong> reboot is yet to receive a release date.<\/strong><\/p>\n
