Jacob Ramsey is closing in on a move to Newcastle United from Aston Villa<\/p>\n

Newcastle United are making progress in their attempt to sign Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa.<\/a><\/p>\n

The proposed package is worth \u00a340 million, which would count as pure profit for Villa and help improve their position with regard to the Premier League\u2019s<\/a> Profit and Sustainability Rules.<\/p>\n

Ramsey came through the Villa academy<\/a> and has made 167 appearances for the club in all competitions since his debut in February 2019.<\/p>\n

He featured 45 times in all competitions last season, including 29 appearances in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

However, in 2023\/24 he started only eight games, enduring a torrid spell with injuries that began in the summer of 2023 while on international duty with England U21s.<\/p>\n

Villa\u2019s transfer activity has been limited this summer due to the financial rules, with only two first-team signings so far: Marco Bizot, brought in as back-up to Robin Olsen, and Evann Guessand, who joined last week in a deal worth roughly \u00a330 million.<\/p>\n

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports<\/a> bundle ahead of the 2025\/26 season, saving members \u00a3192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.<\/p>\n
