While it&#8217;s very resilient, the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/nhs-scotland\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"NHSLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">NHS<\/a> explains that every time this crucial organ filters alcohol, some of its cells die, which can lead to liver disease. But one social media doctor has shared another food which he says is even worse for your liver than alcohol.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/health\/eight-checks-you-can-few-34040651\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"liverLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">liver<\/a> is a vital organ responsible for many crucial jobs in the body. It is in charge of processing nutrients, filtering blood, and producing bile for digestion. The liver also stores energy, vitamins, and minerals, and plays a crucial role in detoxification and fighting infections.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It&#8217;s important that we protect our livers and avoid damaging them as much as we can. And Dr Eric Berg has shared the one food that he says is &#8216;the most dangerous&#8217; for the liver. The<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/social-media\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" social mediaLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> social media<\/a> doctor boasts an impressive 17 million subscribers on YouTube, and over a million TikTok followers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/health\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" healthLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> health<\/a> expert, who specialises in food health and intermittent fasting, said in a video on his TikTok page: &#8220;The most dangerous food for the liver is not saturated fat, it&#8217;s not high-cholesterol foods, it&#8217;s not even alcohol.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/1744859349_225_consent-placeholder.svg.svg+xml\" alt=\"\" height=\"90px\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;This food is considered &#8216;<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/heart-disease\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"heart healthyLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">heart healthy<\/a>&#8216;, but it&#8217;s highly inflammatory, it can keep your liver inflamed, your arteries inflamed, and your joints inflamed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;It triggers fibrosis, the scarring of your liver, as well as producing gut inflammation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;The most dangerous food for the liver is corn oil.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Healthline explains that consuming corn oil is not ideal for everyone, due to its high omega-6 <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/health\/new-study-finds-fish-nuts-34744273\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"fatty acid Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">fatty acid <\/a>content and the fact that it&#8217;s highly refined.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">While it does contain some beneficial components like vitamin E and phytosterols, excessive consumption can be bad for you due to its high omega-6s and, as Dr Berg points out, the potential for<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/lifestyle\/worlds-most-anti-inflammatory-food-35057698\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" inflammation.Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> inflammation.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Products containing corn oil can include <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/lifestyle\/fakeaway-pizza-salad-tastes-just-34994560\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"saladLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">salad<\/a> dressings, chips, sauces, bread, cookies, cereals and margarine.
