Gerhard Struber has admitted that while he is happy with his current Bristol City<\/a> squad and the Reds don\u2019t need to \u201cstress\u201d about making further additions, he still wants to add \u201cone or another\u201d player to his ranks before the transfer deadline.<\/p>\n The City head coach, who was appointed as Liam Manning\u2019s successor in June, has now had a chance to see the bulk of his squad in competitive action following Tuesday night\u2019s Carabao Cup win over MK Dons. Goals from Jason Knight and substitute Yu Hirakawa saw the Reds beat Paul Warne\u2019s side 2-0 at Ashton Gate<\/a>, and book their place in the second round.<\/p>\n Struber made five changes to the team that beat Sheffield United for the clash with the Dons. The only available senior players not to take to the field across the first two fixtures of the season, or Tuesday’s Under-21s game at the HPC, have been Harry Cornick, Lewis Thomas and Haydon Roberts<\/a>. While Struber hopes such signings will be made “as soon as possible”, he was unable to disclose any details about any potential deals on Tuesday evening<\/p>\n \u201cYes, I am happy with my group, of course,\u201d the head coach told Bristol Live<\/a> in his post-match press conference. \u201cI like these players, I like the attitude, and I would say the character of this team is on a very, very high level.<\/p>\n \u201cTo work with this group is super. It is really, really, really good, and I have a high appreciation that I have the chance to do it.<\/p>\n \u201cOn the same way, of course, I look on the market and of course I want to do the one or other piece what would help us in the end that we grow also from the quality. Such reports suggested Serie A side Udinese, Norwich City, and clubs in the MLS held an interest in the Scotland international, with a fee of \u00a33.5million needed to convince the Robins to sanction his exit.<\/p>\n Bristol Live<\/a> understands that the Reds are not planning to sell the versatile defender this summer, and if a deal were to happen, it would take a bigger fee than the \u00a33.5million reported by various publications.<\/p>\n Of course, as a club in the Championship, every player has their price, but Struber also emphasised his desire to keep the 27-year-old at Ashton Gate beyond the September 1 transfer deadline.<\/p>\n \u201cRoss is super important for us,\u201d the head coach told BBC Radio Bristol<\/a> after the win over MK Dons. \u201cI can not imagine that.
