Check out the latest photos and videos of Conor McPherson\u2019s The Weir<\/a>, coming to the West End this autumn 2025. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Weir is playing at the Harold Pinter Theatre<\/strong> in London from 12 September to 6 December 2025.<\/p>\n

The production stars multi-award-winning Hollywood actor Brendan Gleeson<\/a><\/strong> (The Banshees of Inisherin, Paddington 2) making his West End debut as Jack.<\/p>\n

The Weir also stars Owen McDonnell<\/strong> (Bad Sisters, Killing Eve) as Brendan, Se\u00e1n McGinley<\/strong> (That They May Face the Rising Sun, The Brightening Air) as Jim, Kate Phillips<\/strong> (Peaky Blinders, Wolf Hall) as Valerie, and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor<\/strong> (Dancing at Lughnasa, Say Nothing) as Finbar.<\/p>\n

Just in:<\/strong> The first production photos of The Weir have been released, with the production now playing at the 3Olympia Theatre<\/strong> in Dublin until 6 September 2025, ahead of its West End run.<\/p>\n

Written and directed by Conor McPherson<\/a> (Girl From the North Country<\/a>, The Brightening Air), The Weir is produced by Kate Horton Productions and Landmark Productions.<\/p>\n

Joining Conor McPherson in the creative team are Rae Smith (set and costume design), Mark Henderson (lighting design) and Kevin Gleeson (sound design).<\/p>\n

Set on a stormy night in an isolated pub in rural Ireland, four local men gather. Their usual banter and everyday lives are disrupted by the arrival of a woman called Valerie. The stories they weave to impress her are gripping, haunting and deeply unsettling. Little do they know that she has a profoundly personal story of her own, the sharing of which will leave them all shaken.<\/p>\n

Brendan Gleeson is an acclaimed film, TV and stage actor, and winner of a Primetime Emmy Award, two British Independent Film Awards and three IFTA Awards, as well as Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations.<\/p>\n

Other new Conor McPherson projects include the return of his hit musical Girl From the North Country<\/a>, featuring the songs of Bob Dylan, at The Old Vic until 23 August 2025.<\/p>\n

McPherson has also written a new stage show based on the hit movie and book franchise The Hunger Games, with The Hunger Games on Stage<\/a> opening at new East London venue Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre<\/a> on 20 October 2025, directed by Matthew Warchus.<\/p>\n

His other new projects include a new adaptation of Chekhov\u2019s The Cherry Orchard<\/a>, in a new West End production starring Kristin Scott Thomas, directed by Ian Rickson.<\/p>\n
