{"id":341644,"date":"2025-08-13T16:57:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-13T16:57:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/341644\/"},"modified":"2025-08-13T16:57:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T16:57:14","slug":"six-top-awards-for-pudsey-theatre-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/341644\/","title":{"rendered":"Six top awards for Pudsey theatre group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pudsey-based theatre group, Fulneck Dramatic Society, enjoyed a highly successful evening at the recent Wharfedale Festival of Drama Awards evening, held at Yeadon Town Hall.<\/p>\n<p>Their winter 2025 production of \u2018Home Before Dark\u2019 written by \u2018Coronation Street\u2019 scriptwriter, Jimmy Chinn, came away with six awards including \u2018Best overall production\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Awards included:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Best director: Dave Robbins<\/li>\n<li>Best actor (male): Joe Braham<\/li>\n<li>Best actor (female): Louisa Morris<\/li>\n<li>Best supporting actor (female): Helen Chesterman<\/li>\n<li>Chairman\u2019s special award for use of live music within the show: Dick Porter, Justine Massie and Dominic Adams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The play\u2019s director, Dave Robbins, said: \u201cHome before Dark\u2019 is a lovely play which makes you laugh and cry in equal measures. We loved performing it. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was also a real community production with a brilliant cast of over 20 actors \u2013 some of whom were making their first-ever stage appearance. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhilst individual awards are to be celebrated, I was particularly pleased that we won \u2018Best overall production\u2019.
