Sanju Samson<\/a> will be in action at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Independence Day (August 15), when he will lead a KCA Secretary XI against Sachin Baby-led KCA President’s XI in an exhibition match.<\/p>\n

Entry to the one-off T20 match scheduled to begin at 7.30 pm will be free, informed the Kerala Cricket Association.<\/p>\n

Sanju’s team comprises Vishnu Vinod, Salman Nizar, Sijomon Joseph, Basil Thampi, Akhil Scaria, Shoun Roger and India’s U19 World Cup player Mohammed Enaan among others.<\/p>\n

Sachin Baby will lead a star-studded XI comprising Rohan S Kunnummal, Mohammed Azharuddeen, Nidheesh M D and Eden Apple Tom among others.<\/p>\n

It is the first time Sanju will be involved in a state-level game since missing the majority of the previous domestic campaign, partly due to injury and partly because of disciplinary reasons.<\/p>\n

In Sanju’s absence, Sachin Baby led Kerala to a historic maiden Ranji Trophy final, where they finished as runners-up to Vidarbha.<\/p>\n

Sanju was accused of indiscipline for allegedly walking out on a preparatory camp. KCA President Jayesh George went public with comments against Sanju, which resulted in a public spat that dragged in former India cricketer S Sreesanth<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The controversies appear to have died out now as Sanju prepares for a grand return to state cricket with the KCL. The exhibition match at the Greenfield Stadium is seen as a warm-up ahead of the second season of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) set to begin on August 21.<\/p>\n

Sanju did not participate in the inaugural KCL season, but was picked by Kochi Blue Tigers for a whopping \u20b926.8 lakh at the auction.<\/p>\n
