Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen will most likely stay in the Premier League<\/a> next season. That’s as per fresh reports on the Liverpool<\/a>-linked Spain international, who is set to attract plenty of interest this summer due to a highlighted \u00a350million release clause.<\/p>\n

The Cherries signed Huijsen from Juventus last summer for \u00a315.3million – intending to train him up for the future. Injuries to others shattered such plans but it turned out to be for the 20-year-old’s benefit, as he has gone on to make 30 appearances.<\/p>\n

His development caught the eye of not only of Spain’s national team, but also possible transfer suitors. Liverpool are said to be among them<\/a>, especially now a buyout clause is confirmed to exist<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Reporting from Spain, Relevo<\/a> say a switch across England is now all-but a certainty with Real Madrid undecided over signing a central defender this year and questioning the supposed \u00a350m fee involved. It is said this would leave Huijsen with Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and the Reds to decide from and crucially he will do this next month, coinciding with the end of the 2024\/25 Premier League campaign.<\/p>\n

Between now and that point in time, the Spaniard is set to focus on the task at hand and that’s helping Andoni Iraola’s side qualify for European competition. Only at this point will he make any call about his future.<\/p>\n

The Spanish media’s removal of La Liga giants Real from the equation would appear to make Liverpool’s task of persuading Huijsen to sign much easier. That’s owing to the fact he has only previously spoken of a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.<\/p>\n

Last week commenting on the reported interest, he replied: “It’s a big team. Every player wants to play in the maximum [level] possible. A friend called me and said, ‘Go to Real Madrid’. I laughed. What am I going to say?”<\/p>\n
