Developers have published details of ambitious plans for hundreds of new homes in a small Solihull<\/a> village.<\/p>\n

Tidbury Green ‘s current population of around 1,000 could significantly increase if developer Summix FHS Development LLP gets its wish to build 850 homes on green belt land south of Norton Lane.<\/p>\n

A planning application has yet to be submitted but initial plans have been revealed for the homes, which would include affordable homes.<\/p>\n

Developers say there is the potential for \u201csupporting uses\u201d including a care\/retirement home, food and beverage use and local convenience store on the site.<\/p>\n

And a public open space could also be included in the plans, the developers add.<\/p>\n

The land is across three parcels of land separated by Fulford Hall Road and Rumbush Lane and bound to the north by Norton Lane – and in total is 58 hectares.<\/p>\n

A report by RPS group on behalf of Summix FHS Development, submitted to Solihull Council<\/a>, says: \u201cInitial masterplanning and other technical work have shown the site to be able to accommodate approximately 850 homes and other supporting uses, such as a care home and convenience store.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe current proposals would perform as a strategic urban extension to Tidbury Green, with the ability to increase local service provision for new and existing residents, and whilst also benefitting from links to existing facilities, including train stations at Wythall and Earlswood.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe site itself consists of agricultural fields with trees and hedgerows within.<\/p>\n

“The topography of the site is relatively flat and acts as a plateau before falling away to the west towards the River Cole, and to the south towards Clowes Wood.\u201d<\/p>\n

The developers have submitted a request to Solihull Council to confirm if the proposed development would require an environmental impact assessment before an outline planning application is formally put forward.<\/p>\n
