Pictured is King Charles and Queen Camilla in 2023Credit: AP<\/p>\n<p>A source close to the family told the Mirror: \u201cThey are choosing to spend time together as a family before the children go <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/topic\/back-to-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">back to school<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Prince of Wales has reportedly informed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/who\/king-charles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">King Charles<\/a> they will be skipping the annual gathering, which is due to be attended by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/who\/camilla-parker-bowles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Queen Camilla<\/a> and other family members.<\/p>\n<p>The royal couple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/royals\/26866422\/kate-middleton-wont-return-to-royal-duties-easter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">skipped last year\u2019s Easter service<\/a> too, as Princess Kate was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/royals\/26945158\/king-charles-address-nation-days-after-kate-middleton-cancer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">undergoing cancer treatment.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/royals\/27027916\/royal-family-easter-sunday-king-leads-trimmed-down-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">former couple who did attend last year<\/a> &#8211; to the surprise of many royal fans &#8211; was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/topic\/prince-andrew\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince Andrew<\/a> and Sarah, Duchess of York.<\/p>\n<p>It was the first time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/who\/sarah-ferguson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sarah Ferguson<\/a> had attended since she divorced Andrew in 1996.<\/p>\n<p>Wales Easter<\/p>\n<p>William and Kate are likely to spend Easter at their countryside home, Anmer Hall, with their three kids, who are on their holidays from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/fabulous\/19583764\/lambrook-school-fees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lambrook School.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Royal insiders have claimed that Kate, 43, who is<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/royals\/32801136\/princess-kate-remission-cancer-battle-takes-time-adjust\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> now in remission<\/a>, and husband <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/who\/prince-william\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince William<\/a>, 42, are happier than ever after their tough 2024.<\/p>\n<p>A source told Closer that the future king is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/royals\/34261502\/prince-william-kate-second-chance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ramping up the romance with his wife.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>They claimed: \u201cWilliam has been incredibly supportive through Kate\u2019s cancer battle &#8211; he\u2019s really proven himself to be a remarkable partner when the going gets tough.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis big focus has been on making the most of their time and this second chance at life together.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kate dazzles as she joins Wills &amp; King on Commonwealth Day after missing last years&#8217; event during cancer treatment<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat means more romantic dinners, more long walks and more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/topic\/holidays\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">holidays<\/a>. 76 men and 76 women &#8211;  with two purses: one red and one white, containing Maundy MoneyCredit: Getty<\/p>\n<p>Charles, who is continuing to have cancer treatment more than a year after his diagnosis, had earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/royals\/34511087\/king-charles-easter-message-durham-cathedral-maundy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">issued his Easter message<\/a> saying &#8220;love&#8221; is the greatest virtue.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The King wrote: &#8220;One of the puzzles of our humanity is how we are capable of both great cruelty and great kindness.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis paradox of human life runs through the Easter story and in the scenes that daily come before our eyes \u2014 at one moment, terrible images of human suffering and, in another, heroic acts in war-torn countries where humanitarians of every kind risk their own lives to protect the lives of others.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are three virtues that the world still needs \u2014 faith, hope and love.\u00a0\u201cAnd the greatest of these is love\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kate Middleton&#8217;s affectionate nickname for father-in-law King Charles<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__content--intro\">HE may be the King of England to us regular folk, but Charles is just &#8216;grandpa&#8217;
