Some former royal family staffers have spoken about their experiences working for The Firm \u2014 and they\u2019re not shy about discussing Prince William<\/strong><\/a> and Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Josh Kettler<\/strong>, for one, was Harry and wife Meghan Markle<\/strong>\u2019s chief of staff for three months before parting ways with Team Sussex in June 2024. His departure sparked rumors about a tense working relationship with the couple, but Kettler had nothing but a positive experience.<\/p>\n

Kettler told Us Weekly exclusively in September 2024<\/a> that he was \u201cwarmly welcomed\u201d by Harry, Meghan and everyone at Archewell during his brief stint.<\/a><\/p>\n

Most accounts from the former staffers were positive \u2014 but some had strong opinions about members of the family they encountered.<\/p>\n

Queen Elizabeth II<\/strong>\u2019s former press secretary Ailsa Anderson<\/strong>, for one, recalled Harry to be a \u201cvery warm, engaging and kind person\u201d in the August 2025 documentary Prince Harry: My Terrible Year. But she didn\u2019t hold back when it came to discussing the Duke of Sussex\u2019s royal rift<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cStop being the victim and start being the hero of the piece, start writing your own script,\u201d Anderson said. \u201cI think people are just getting a little bit tired of how Prince Harry thinks the world is against him and how awful his life is.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Major Comparison<\/p>\n

Princess Diana<\/strong>\u2019s former private secretary and chief of staff, Patrick Jephson<\/strong>, compared her drama with the royal family<\/a> to Harry and Meghan\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\u201cThirty years ago we were in a comparable situation where rifts were opening up within the royal family and it was starting to escalate,\u201d he told CNN in March 2021. \u201cThere were a lot of unhappy people involved then, I\u2019m quite sure there are a lot of unhappy people involved now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jephson also commented on Harry and Meghan\u2019s CBS tell-all<\/a>, hinting that it might not have been the best move.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter [William\u2019s 12th birthday], he had to have a separate aircraft and we could only fly all four together when they were young with the written permission of Her Majesty,\u201d Laurie shared during an appearance on \u201cA Right Royal Podcast\u201d in 2023. \u201cWhen William became 12, he would fly normally in a 125 from Northolt and we would fly the 146 out with the other three on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Supportive Bosses<\/p>\n

Harry and Meghan\u2019s former global press secretary and head of communications, Ashley Hansen<\/strong>, told Us about one specific situation where she had to take extended time off for an unknown reason.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was met with the kind of concern and care a parent would express if it were their own child,\u201d Hansen said in August 2024. \u201cI was asked what I needed, how and if they could help, and told to take as much time as I needed.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Heartfelt Goodbye<\/p>\n

Lieutenant Commander Rob Dixon,<\/strong> who previously worked for William, left his position in December 2024 with a message of positive royal family memories<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a remarkable journey, and I look forward to carrying the skills and insights I\u2019ve gained into my next appointments,\u201d Dixon wrote via LinkedIn at the time, recalling \u201call the weird and wonderful\u201d moments with the family.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were engagements when our whole Household was involved, every single person, and there were times when I was quite rightly standing alone, calling the shots and backing the shots I\u2019d taken,\u201d he added. \u201cI will be forever grateful to everyone who played their part alongside me in \u2018Team Cambridge\u2019 and \u2018Team Wales\u2019, and also to my superb Principals.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Minor Mishap<\/p>\n

William and Princess Kate Middleton\u2019s former aide Jason Knauf<\/strong> had a bit of a snafu<\/a> in the London streets ahead of Princess Charlotte<\/strong>\u2019s 2015 birth announcement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were gonna announce it for another couple hours, and I had this piece of paper to get right this press release,\u201d he recalled on 60 Minutes in February 2025. \u201cI\u2019m still out there with the hundreds of journalists trying to have a game face.
