{"id":342547,"date":"2025-08-14T00:53:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T00:53:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/342547\/"},"modified":"2025-08-14T00:53:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T00:53:09","slug":"china-imposes-countermeasures-against-two-eu-banks-over-sanctions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/342547\/","title":{"rendered":"China imposes countermeasures against two EU banks over sanctions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BEIJING<\/strong> \u2013 China has imposed countermeasures on two European banks \u2014 UAB Urbo Bankas and AB Mano Bankas \u2014 in response to the European Union\u2019s sanctions on Chinese financial institutions, the Ministry of Commerce said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Under the measures, organizations and individuals in China are prohibited from engaging in transactions, cooperation or other related activities with these two banks, said a ministry spokesperson in an online statement.<\/p>\n<p>The move follows the EU\u2019s decision to add two Chinese financial institutions to its sanctions list on grounds related to Russia, despite China\u2019s repeated opposition.
