Steve Kay<\/a><\/p>\n FootballTransfers understands that Aston Villa<\/a> have held talks with Arsenal<\/a> over a deal for Leandro Trossard<\/a>.<\/p>\n Article continues under the video<\/p>\n Initial discussions between the two clubs took place on Tuesday as Aston Villa<\/b><\/a> look to test the Gunners\u2019 resolve over the Belgian. Trossard has been informed of the approach, and it is understood that the decision regarding his future will be left entirely up to the player.<\/p>\n It is important to note that this is not the first time the Birmingham club have enquired about Trossard. A similar conversation was held in January, when Arsenal<\/b><\/a> were negotiating a new contract with the player – an offer that remains on the table but is as yet unsigned.<\/p>\n Back then, Villa were told he was not for sale as Arsenal were confident that a new contract could be agreed. However, since then, tangible progress has been hard to come by.<\/p>\n Trossard is also considering interest from other clubs, with Arsenal valuing him at around \u00a318 million (\u20ac20.8m) – a figure well within Villa\u2019s reach, especially with Jacob Ramsey\u2019s imminent big-money move to Newcastle<\/b><\/a> and amid growing interest in Leon Bailey<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n Brentford also interested in Trossard <\/p>\n As first reported by FootballTransfers<\/b><\/a>, Brentford<\/b><\/a> have also made contact over Trossard as the Bees eye a proven Premier League attacker to strengthen their forward options. It comes amid Yoane Wissa’s ongoing push to leave the club and join Newcastle.<\/p>\n In July, we revealed<\/b><\/a> that Mikel Arteta would prefer to keep Trossard and that the player is open to remaining at the Emirates.
