{"id":34362,"date":"2025-04-20T01:47:26","date_gmt":"2025-04-20T01:47:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/34362\/"},"modified":"2025-04-20T01:47:26","modified_gmt":"2025-04-20T01:47:26","slug":"bristols-michelin-starred-restaurants-and-how-much-a-meal-costs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/34362\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol&#8217;s Michelin-Starred restaurants and how much a meal costs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bristol currently boasts two Michelin-Starred restaurants<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/0_BRI_PG_240524wilsons-32.jpg\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Wilsons is a small, independently owned and run farm-to-table restaurant in Redland(Image: PAUL GILLIS \/ Reach PLC)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Bristol has seen a change in its Michelin-Starred offering over the years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Those of us who love a bit of fine dining are spoiled for choice in the city, with <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"restaurantsLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">restaurants<\/a> all over Bristol serving up exceptional cuisine, professional service, high quality ingredients and stylish interior decor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Fortunately, Bristol&#8217;s Michelin-Starred restaurants &#8211; of which there are two &#8211; offer all the style and substance of a fine dining restaurant up there with the best of them, without breaking the bank.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Take Bulrush, for example. This Michelin-Starred restaurant on Cotham Road, owned by chef <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink\/head-chef-bristols-only-michelin-9152277\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"George LiveseyLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">George Livesey<\/a>, was first given the accolade by Michelin in 2019, and has retained it ever since.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">After fellow Michelin-Starred restaurant Paco Tapas lost its Michelin Star in 2024, this popular restaurant became the last standing for a while, until Wilsons was given the prestigious accolade, earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">At the time, chef and owner of <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink\/tried-35-lunch-menu-wilsons-9469789\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Wilsons in RedlandLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Wilsons in Redland<\/a>, Jan Ostle, put the boom in our dining scene down to &#8220;<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink\/michelin-star-honour-bristol-restaurant-9934472\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">people in Bristol&#8221; and &#8220;good vibes&#8221;.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Founded in 2016 by <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink\/owner-wilsons-restaurant-names-top-9297870\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"JanLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Jan<\/a> and partner Mary Wilson, the farm-to-table restaurant uses produce from its own two acre market garden to supply the veg, herbs and flowers for its dishes.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/0_BRI_PG_240524wilsons-43.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Wilsons co-founder Jan Ostle (Image: PAUL GILLIS \/ Reach PLC)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Chef George of Bulrush believes that when people think of Michelin-Starred restaurants, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink\/bristols-only-michelin-star-restaurant-9152366\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"they have a certain picture in their minds of how a restaurant should lookLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">they have a certain picture in their minds of how a restaurant should look<\/a>, and this is a perception he thinks needs changing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;We don&#8217;t have tablecloths, we play music, I want a more relaxed service, and I think sometimes people see Michelin Star and think &#8216;where are the tablecloths, where&#8217;s the really expensive champagne&#8217; &#8211; it&#8217;s not always about that.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;We are one of the cheapest Michelin restaurants in the UK&#8230; The quality of the ingredients that we are using is the same as some of the London restaurants, but they&#8217;re charging around three times the amount, and that does get a little bit frustrating.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">This got us wondering just how much a Michelin-Starred meal costs us right here and now in Bristol in 2025. tasting menu (Tuesday-Thursday evenings, 5.30pm).<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">According to sample menus on the website at time of writing (subject to change), prices and courses are:<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Bulrush Sample Tasting Menu &#8211;
