A popular indie rock band is back with its first new song in nearly a decade.<\/p>\n
The Temper Trap released \u201cLucky Dimes\u201d on Wednesday, marking the Australian music group\u2019s first original single since 2016.<\/p>\n

According to Billboard<\/a>, the new song, produced by Grammy nominee Styalz Fuego (Charli XCX, Troye Sivan) features a “heavier edge… thanks to frenetic guitarwork and thumping percussion.” The band also released a music video directed by fellow Melbourne creative Joey Clough.<\/p>\n The Temper Trap formed in Melbourne in 2005 and scored an international hit with 2008\u2019s \u201cSweet Disposition<\/a>,\u201d which was featured prominently in the 2009 movie \u201c500 Days of Summer.\u201d The track reached the top 20 on the U.S. rock charts and now has more than 775 million streams on Spotify, where the group averages 15 million monthly listeners.<\/p>\n Other popular songs include \u201cLove Lost\u201d (famously sampled by rapper Mac Miller on his song of the same name), \u201cFader\u201d and \u201cScience of Fear\u201d (featured on \u201cThe Vampire Diaries\u201d and other TV shows and video games).<\/p>\n The Temper Trap has seen a resurgence in popularity thanks to several remixes of \u201cSweet Disposition,\u201d including new versions by John Summit & Silver Panda and Lost Frequencies.
