Racing Bulls<\/a> CEO Peter Bayer has reaffirmed his wish for Isack Hadjar<\/a> to remain with the team amid continuing talk of a move to sister Formula 1<\/a> squad Red Bull<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The French youngster has stunned in his debut season with the Faenza-based outfit, scoring 22 points to leave him the second-highest placed rookie in the standings.<\/p>\n

Hadjar\u2019s performances have been hugely impressive, coinciding with the struggles faced by Yuki Tsunoda, who swapped the team for Red Bull after two races.<\/p>\n

The Japanese driver has 12 points less, and his difficulties in the RB21 have naturally led to rumours about a potential promotion for the 2024 Formula 2 runner-up.<\/p>\n

So much so that Bayer joked previously that he wanted to keep Hadjar \u201cin handcuffs\u201d, such was his desire to keep him where he is.<\/p>\n

The Austrian, speaking to PlanetF1, clarified the remark, but indicated that he wants Hadjar to be afforded time to continue his education with Racing Bulls.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was joking, honestly!\u201d he said, adding: \u201cWe have strong alignment internally that we need to go through this year calmly, with everyone focusing on their jobs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure that, post-summer break, discussions will start about 2026, but honestly, I dare to say that in \u201925, we all want to keep it calm and, talking about Isack, give him the chance to grow, to learn. Honestly, he is incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n

F1 \u2018will see great things\u2019 from Hadjar<\/p>\n

Bayer was full of praise for Hadjar and cited a particular situation at the Austrian Grand Prix weekend which gave him an idea of the talent level he possesses.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was listening to the radio when he was coming in, the umbilical in,\u201d he recounted.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis race engineer [Pierre Hamelin] said: \u2018Look, Isack, you\u2019re losing about half a tenth in Turn 6\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIsack said to him: \u2018Can you be more precise?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cPierre said, \u2018Yes, I can. You\u2019re losing 0.035 of a second in that turn.\u2019 And Isaac said: \u2018OK, then I know what to do.\u2019 [And he did it].\u201d<\/p>\n

Bayer believes that Hadjar is capable of achieving a great deal, and again reiterated the belief that he should continue these early steps with the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, it\u2019s as simple as that \u2013 his capacity of driving,\u201d he continued. \u201cHonestly, I think we\u2019ll see great things from him.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis mind is just working, asking, growing. Isack is a great kid. He\u2019s great, but he needs this year with us, and everybody agrees that\u2019s what we should do.\u201d<\/p>\n
