{"id":344578,"date":"2025-08-14T19:00:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T19:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/344578\/"},"modified":"2025-08-14T19:00:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T19:00:12","slug":"five-jamaicans-win-eu-funded-scholarships-for-graduate-studies-across-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/344578\/","title":{"rendered":"Five Jamaicans Win EU-Funded Scholarships for Graduate Studies Across Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text-align-justify\">Five Jamaican students have been awarded fully funded Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters scholarships to pursue graduate studies at top universities across Europe, in 2025-2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">The recipients\u2013 Christina Robinson, Savannah McDonald, Britney Hamilton, Amala Evans and Alazne Cameron will begin master\u2019s programmes in fields with global relevance and strong ties to Jamaica\u2019s development priorities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">They will study across universities in The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\"><strong>Robinson\u00a0<\/strong>will pursue a Master\u2019s in<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Islands and Sustainability<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\"><strong>McDonald<\/strong> will study Managing Art and Cultural Heritage in Global Markets<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\"><strong>Hamilton\u00a0<\/strong>and <strong>Evans<\/strong> will both pursue studies in Coastal Hazards, Risks, Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\"><strong>Cameron<\/strong> will complete a Master\u2019s in Children\u2019s Literature, Media and Cultural Entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">Four of the awardees \u2013Robinson, McDonald, Hamilton and Evans are graduates of the University of the West Indies, while Cameron studied at the University of Florida in the United States.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">The Erasmus Mundus programme, funded by the European Union, promotes academic excellence and cultural exchange. Each scholarship covers tuition, travel, and a living allowance. The programmes run from one to two years and involve study in at least three different European countries within a consortium of top-ranked universities.
