The couple were already parents to a 2-year-old son, the future <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/person\/king-charles-iii\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">King Charles<\/a>, and they named their daughter Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_6-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Princess Anne&#8217;s first name may have been inspired by another princess born into the British royal family, as Anne had first been floated as the moniker for <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tag\/princess-margaret\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Princess Margaret<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_8-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> In the book <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Queen-Mother-Official-Biography\/dp\/1400078342\" data-component=\"amazon\" data-source=\"affiliate\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Queen Mother: The Official Biography<\/a>, William Shawcross writes that Queen Elizabeth&#8217;s parents, <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/royals\/queen-elizabeth-shares-photo-with-king-george-vi-for-fathers-day\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">King George VI<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/royals\/queen-mother-king-charles-do-lets-have-another-drink-exclusive-excerpt\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother<\/a>, originally wanted to give Princess Margaret the first name of Ann. I wonder what you think?
