{"id":345326,"date":"2025-08-15T01:38:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T01:38:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/345326\/"},"modified":"2025-08-15T01:38:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T01:38:14","slug":"metas-ai-rules-permitted-sensual-chats-with-kids-until-a-journalist-got-ahold-of-the-document-and-asked-what-was-up-with-that","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/345326\/","title":{"rendered":"Meta&#8217;s AI rules permitted &#8216;sensual&#8217; chats with kids until a journalist got ahold of the document and asked what was up with that"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"9a5ef462-60fd-453a-b601-5855c1efef6f\">A Meta policy document <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/investigates\/special-report\/meta-ai-chatbot-guidelines\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/investigates\/special-report\/meta-ai-chatbot-guidelines\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" rel=\"noopener\">obtained by Reuters <\/a>stated that it was acceptable for the Facebook company&#8217;s AI chatbots to have &#8220;romantic or sensual&#8221; conversations with children.<\/p>\n<p>Meta confirmed the document&#8217;s authenticity to Reuters and told the outlet that it has now removed the guidelines in question, which said it was OK for bots &#8220;to engage a child in conversations that are romantic or sensual&#8221; and to describe children &#8220;in terms that evidence their attractiveness.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"9a5ef462-60fd-453a-b601-5855c1efef6f-2\">&#8220;The examples and notes in question were and are erroneous and inconsistent with our policies, and have been removed,&#8221; a Meta representative told Reuters. &#8220;We have clear policies on what kind of responses AI characters can offer, and those policies prohibit content that sexualizes children and sexualized role play between adults and minors.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Related articles<\/p>\n<p>Meta did not, however, comment on a guideline which states that &#8220;it is acceptable to create statements that demean people on the basis of their protected characteristics,&#8221; such as &#8220;Black people are dumber than White people.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The document, called &#8220;GenAI: Content Risk Standards,&#8221; also said that it is OK for bots to fabricate information so long as they include a disclaimer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;AI&#8221; chatbots are not really intelligent, but the illusion is strong enough to convince people of all types, and in some cases users are developing dangerously close relationships with bots.
