Armed police<\/a> locked down a residential street in Edinburgh this afternoon.<\/p>\n Officers<\/a> were called to Firrhill Drive in the Oxgangs area after the alarm was raised at around 2pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n One concerned local reported seeing several armed response units – and an image shared with Edinburgh Live<\/a> showed the street closed off by officers.<\/p>\n The resident said those in the area were unable to access the road due to a cordon being erected.<\/p>\n The nature of the incident so far remains unclear, but it’s understood police<\/a> have since left the scene.<\/p>\n The resident said: “The road was closed by police and four armed response units were there until 4.45pm when the road opened back up.<\/p>\n “It was scary.
