Directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings\u2019 Destin Daniel Cretton, the superhero blockbuster film will once again see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/tom-holland\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tom Holland<\/a> reprise his role as Peter Parker\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/spider-man\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spider-Man<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So far, there\u2019s been no word regarding who the main antagonist of Spider-Man 4 will be. It has been confirmed that Michael Mando will be returning as Mac Gargan\/Scorpion, with Brand New Day being the character\u2019s first MCU appearance since Spider-Man: Homecoming, though he\u2019s not expected to be the central villain.<\/p>\n<p>What villain could debut in Spider-Man 4?<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, a viral Twitter post showcased a \u201cmoodboard,\u201d created by costume prop modeler Monica Avitto, for the film\u2019s villain.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Monica Avitto, the costume prop modeler for \u2018SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY\u2019, has created a moodboard for the film\u2019s villain. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/unYZGfRy9S\">pic.twitter.com\/unYZGfRy9S<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Cosmic Marvel (@cosmic_marvel) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cosmic_marvel\/status\/1952810828593311764?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August 5, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While many thought this moodboard could be alluding to Silver Samurai, a new theory that\u2019s becoming popular on social media, as shared by <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DrawsTom\/status\/1955750985080475918\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">@DrawsTom<\/a>, suggests Spider-Man 4\u2019s villain could actually be Alistair Smythe, also known as Spider-Slayer.<\/p>\n<p>Scooper <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DanielRPK\/status\/1955926206462767511\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daniel Richtman<\/a> even noted that this is a \u201cgreat\u201d theory, though this does not mean Spider-Slayer will definitely be in the movie, as this has not been confirmed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/marvel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marvel<\/a> or Sony at this time.<\/p>\n<p>Created by Louise Simonson and Mary Wilshire, Alistair Smythe first appeared in 1985\u2019s The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #19. Gifted when it comes to his knowledge of robotics, Alistair inherited his Spider-Slayer legacy from his father and typically operates a bioorganic carapace after becoming paralyzed from the waist down. The character was voiced by Maxwell Caulfield in Spider-Man: The Animated Series and also briefly appeared in 2014\u2019s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, where he was portrayed by B. J.
