\n\tAfter surpassing $331M<\/a> to become the United States\u2019 highest-grossing Man of Steel pic in the month since its release, James Gunn<\/a>\u2018s Superman<\/a> is soaring to digital<\/a> in time for Peacemaker<\/a> fans to catch up ahead of Season 2.<\/p>\n

\n\tFaster than a speeding bullet, Superman\u2018s North American digital release is set for Friday, Aug. 15, ahead of Peacemaker\u2018s Friday, Aug. 22 return to HBO Max<\/a>. The DC Studios<\/a> movie then becomes available Sept. 23 on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD.<\/p>\n

\n\tGunn told ScreenRant<\/a> of the quick jump to digital, \u201cWell, it\u2019s very complicated, but the truth is it is because of Peacemaker. I originally thought Peacemaker was going to be coming out next month. There was a lot of things that are beyond our control, so that Peacemaker is coming out now, and, at the end of the day, I wanted everyone to be able to see Superman that wanted to, even those people who couldn\u2019t get to a theater before Peacemaker. And that\u2019s really the reason for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSuperman serves as a precursor for the events of Peacemaker Season 2, with the movie\u2019s supporting characters, Green Lantern\/Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), Hawkgirl\/Kendra Saunders (Isabela Merced) and Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn), appearing in a teaser for<\/a> <\/a>upcoming episodes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso coming soon to the digital version will be special features including a gag reel, deleted scenes and a director\u2019s commentary from Gunn, all of which will be automatically added for customers who have already purchased the movie on digital.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter taking over DC Studios with Safran in 2022, Superman marks the first entry in Gunn\u2019s new DCU<\/a> franchise, which begins with the \u2018Gods and Monsters\u2019 phase.<\/p>\n

\n\tNow in theaters, Superman stars David Corenswet in the titular role.
