{"id":346266,"date":"2025-08-15T10:15:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T10:15:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/346266\/"},"modified":"2025-08-15T10:15:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T10:15:14","slug":"lancaster-family-stuck-in-france-after-planes-clip-wings-at-manchester-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/346266\/","title":{"rendered":"Lancaster family stuck in France after planes clip wings at Manchester Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aiir-c-news-figure__image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/689ef9f57fb56.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"aiir-c-news-article__abstract\">\n            A Lancaster man says there is \u2018confusion and no information\u2019 at an airport in France after two planes collided at Manchester.\n        <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:11px\">Local photographer Joshua Brandwood and his family were due to be heading home after a family holiday in Paris, to be greeted with uncertainty upon arrival at Charles de Gaulle Airport.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:11px\">EasyJet said two of its planes collided while taxiing at Manchester Airport, including the one due to take off to Paris, at around 6:30 on Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:11px\">There have been no reports of injuries and both aircraft suffered minor damage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:11px\">Flights have now resumed at the airport following a brief suspension for a safety assessment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:11px\">&#8220;I first learned about the incident at Manchester Airport this morning from a fellow passenger, who told me that our scheduled flight had collided with another aircraft,\u2019\u2019 said Mr Brandwood (pictured below).<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:11px\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/64ec80a53bd59.jpg\" style=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:11px\">\u2018\u2019I later read a news report confirming that, thankfully, there were no injuries. As an already extremely nervous flyer, even the slightest sign of a problem with an aircraft makes me very anxious.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:11px\">\u2018\u2019Our flight was due to depart this morning, but we have yet to be informed when, or if, our aircraft will arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport today. <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:11px\">\u2018\u2019Safety is paramount, so I would much prefer that all necessary checks are carried out thoroughly, no matter how long it takes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:11px\">\u2018\u2019Despite the incident, we enjoyed a wonderful family holiday in Paris and will do our best not to let this overshadow the experience.
