A Manchester mum has turned vigilante on holiday after spotting fellow holidaymakers sneaking down to claim sunbeds at 1.30am.<\/p>\n

Samantha Cooper had been on a two-week holiday in Cyprus with her family but was becoming fed up of the daily scramble to claim a sunbed by the pool.<\/p>\n

The hotel had strict rules which banned people from putting towels down before 9am, and every morning Samantha said it was a struggle to find a spot.<\/p>\n

However, it wouldn’t be long until the 40-year-old found out why sunbeds were seemingly in such short supply.<\/p>\n

While on her balcony at 1.30am, Samantha spotted other guests sneaking down to place towels over sunbeds they wouldn’t use until well into the following afternoon.<\/p>\n

After five days of this, Samantha decided to take matters into her own hands.<\/p>\n

Waiting until after the towels had been placed, Samantha went down to the pool and removed the towels from the sunbeds, ensuring they’d be available for guests who would use them.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be fair, they deserved it,\u201d her 25-year-old daughter Ellie Ikin said. \u201cEvery morning was a struggle.<\/p>\n

“The hotel said they had rules of no one putting towels down until 9am, but no one listened.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mum noticed they were putting towels down at 1.30am from her balcony.”<\/p>\n

Ellie explained that despite taking extreme measures to “reserve” a sunbed, the other guests wouldn’t even go to the pool until much later.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were annoyed because the people who were doing it didn\u2019t sit around the pool until later in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were never down there until at least 3pm.”<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cI was happy she pulled them off so other people actually got a chance to get a bed when they wanted to sit around the pool in the morning.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the sunbed hogs were not deterred, returning the following morning and prompting a silent nocturnal battle over sunbeds.<\/p>\n

Ellie added: \u201cIt\u2019s selfish.
