{"id":346570,"date":"2025-08-15T12:54:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T12:54:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/346570\/"},"modified":"2025-08-15T12:54:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T12:54:12","slug":"the-most-mancunian-bike-ever-bees-swarm-bike-parked-on-market-street","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/346570\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;The most Mancunian bike ever&#8217;: Bees swarm bike parked on Market Street"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Professionals in protective gear had to be called to deal with the swarm<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/0_VIDEO-Huge-cloud-of-bees-descend-on-bike-I-want-to-be-sick.jpg\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>A swarm of bees was spotted in Manchester City Centre(Image: Jam Press\/@leciasfeast)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Shoppers in Manchester city centre were left stunned when a huge swarm of bees descended on a parked bike on Market Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The bike had been left on a bustling street when a \u201ccloud\u201d of the insects suddenly enveloped it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The footage was taken on Market Street by Lecia, who almost walked straight into the bike.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cI was half asleep and hadn\u2019t even had my morning coffee yet,\u201d the 30-year-old content creator told What&#8217;s The Jam.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cI was literally this [very] close to walking straight into a cloud of bees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Startled, Lecia dashed into the nearby Tim Horton\u2019s as the insects continued to gather. She said: \u201cIt was like a proper swarm \u2013 hundreds of bees, and right in the middle of the street.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It turned out the bees were swarming around a bag attached to a parked bicycle. Witnesses believe food inside the bag, and possibly even a queen bee, was what attracted the swarm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Lecia added: \u201cThe whole thing was wild. They were forming a hive right there in public.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1755262451_923_0_VIDEO-Huge-cloud-of-bees-descend-on-bike-I-want-to-be-sick.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>(Image: Jam Press\/@leciasfeast)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It took several hours for professionals in full protective gear to arrive and carefully remove the bike \u2013 and the bees with it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Lecia said: \u201cNo one ever figured out whose bike it was. It looked completely abandoned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cFor a second I thought it was some kind of PR stunt \u2013 especially with the bee being Manchester\u2019s emblem.
