West Midlands Fire Service is tackling a large woodland fire in Marston Green<\/p>\n

Fire crews are tackling a large woodland blaze near Birmingham Airport.<\/p>\n

Around 32 firefighters are currently at Farndon Avenue in Marston Green, Solihull<\/a>, after flames engulfed the fields just before 2.05pm on Friday (August 15).<\/p>\n

Residents and people working near to the incident are advised to close their windows.<\/p>\n

There are no road closures in place or reports of injuries.<\/p>\n

WMFS said: “Eight fire engines and a 4×4 brigade response vehicle are at the scene. Work continues to bring this incident to a safe conclusion.<\/p>\n

A water bowser from Coleshill Fire Station, part of Warwickshire<\/a> Fire and Rescue Service, is also in attendance, supplying additional water to the fireground.<\/p>\n

“Drone operations are assisting firefighters.<\/p>\n

“Please continue to keep doors and windows closed if you live or work nearby..”<\/p>\n

They added: “Good progress is being made at this incident by crews.<\/p>\n

“A fire break has been created in multiple sectors, and this has stopped any fire spread to a nearby railway line and surrounding factory units.<\/p>\n

“Everyone has been accounted for, and there have been no casualties or injuries.”<\/p>\n
