Viewers of Good Morning Britain<\/a> issued an urgent appeal to ITV<\/a> executives following host Robert Rinder<\/a>‘s emotional moment during Friday’s programme.<\/p>\n The 47-year-old presenter was accompanied by Charlotte Hawkins<\/a>, 50, for the latest episode which commemorated the 80th anniversary of VJ Day – observed annually on August 15 to mark the conclusion of WWII.<\/p>\n Robert became visibly moved after broadcasting footage of military pipers beginning the remembrance ceremony, remarking: “That sound is so profoundly evocative of what freedom means to reflect on today.<\/p>\n “To celebrate, commemorate and above all else, don’t you think to remember and commemorate the sacrifice of those who died so all of us could be free.”<\/p>\n His comments prompted viewers to flock to social media, praising the “intelligence” of the occasional GMB host whilst demanding he be offered a more permanent position, according to MailOnline, reports Wales Online<\/a>.<\/p>\n One viewer declared: “Petition to keep Rob Rinder as the main anchor during the week. Big brain, asks the right questions. open your cheque book #gmb.”<\/p>\n Another remarked: “I do like when it’s Rob Rinder on a Friday #gmb” whilst a third enthused: “@GMB what a treat to switch on this morning and see [Rob] Rinder! ! someone who can actually discuss topics with guests who actually has intelligence.”<\/p>\n A fourth suggested: “Robert Rinder and Charlotte Hawkins be your main pressenters” and a fifth concluded: “So much calmer, more grown up and intelligent reporting.”<\/p>\n Another viewer commented: “@GMB Great to see Robert Rinder back on the Friday morning show. He should be on more often.”<\/p>\n Nevertheless, some audiences had different views, with one remarking: “Good grief Rob Rinder likes the sound of his own voice. Give someone else a chance to Speak #gmb” and: “Oh no! not Rob Rinder.”<\/p>\n Good Morning Britain features presenters Susanna Reid, 54, Kate Garraway, 58, Ranvir Singh, 48, Richard Madeley, 69, Ed Balls, 58, Adil Ray, 51, Charlotte and Robert.<\/p>\n Robert has worked in the industry since the early 2000s and is most recognised for his own ITV show Judge Rinder, which broadcast from August 2014 to October 2020.<\/p>\n In 2019 he also fronted Channel 4’s The Rob Rinder Verdict.<\/p>\n He subsequently joined the GMB roster in November 2021 as a guest presenter and commented about the role: “Being a seasoned barrister will stand me in good stead on the show, demonstrating I’m as comfortable holding politicians to account as I am judging the week’s TV on the Gogglebox sofa.<\/p>\n “Plus, who wouldn’t want the chance to guest present alongside one of their best friends?” The subsequent year he became a permanent presenter on the programme.<\/p>\n This follows reports that Good Morning Britain personality Richard Madeley has apparently signed a short-term agreement to remain on the ITV breakfast programme whilst executives plan a cost-reduction restructure.<\/p>\n The experienced broadcaster, 69, has reportedly secured a six-month deal expected to commence in September, forming part of interim arrangements whilst ITV assesses its presenting roster.
