{"id":347004,"date":"2025-08-15T16:51:15","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T16:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/347004\/"},"modified":"2025-08-15T16:51:15","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T16:51:15","slug":"marko-stamenic-swansea-city-close-in-on-nottingham-forest-midfielder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/347004\/","title":{"rendered":"Marko Stamenic: Swansea City close in on Nottingham Forest midfielder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">Swansea City are closing in on the permanent signing of Marko Stamenic from Nottingham Forest.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The New Zealand midfielder joined Nuno Espirito Santo&#8217;s side from Serbian outfit Red Star Belgrade in the summer of 2024 but spent the entirety of last season on loan at Greek side Olympiacos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 23-year-old is due to undergo a medical at the club&#8217;s Fairwood training base before completing a switch to the Championship with Alan Sheehan&#8217;s side.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Stamenic has won 31 caps, scoring three goals, for his country and will become Swansea&#8217;s ninth signing of the summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He started his professional career in his homeland with Porirua-based Western Suburbs before joining Copenhagen following a year with Team Wellington.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Stamenic was loaned out to HB Koge in Denmark before moving to Serbia in 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He featured 23 times in the Greek top flight last season and is now set to leave the City Ground without making a competitive appearance for Forest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Swansea City are closing in on the permanent signing of Marko Stamenic from Nottingham Forest.
