Picture: National Highways<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for National Highways explained the closure was requested by Kent Fire and Rescue on safety grounds.<\/p>\n<p>They said the service was concerned about a hybrid vehicle which was involved in the crash and had overturned.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue confirmed three fire engines attended and the road was temporarily closed whilst its crews managed the scene and isolated the car.<\/p>\n<p>They also said five people were handed over to paramedics.<\/p>\n<p>All three lanes of the A2 were closed, and traffic was stationary, with motorists caught within the closure being turned around from the back of the queue.<\/p>\n<p>By 5.30pm, the road had fully reopened.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Listen to kmfm for regular traffic updates.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Traffic was stopped on part of the A2 after a crash involving four vehicles.
